Dear Diane,

I'm so sorry you are going through the loss of both parents on the same day! Who would think this would happen. After all the years of your parents being together, it must have been torture for them both to be ill and not be with one another. I'm sure they wanted to support each other, but had no means to do so.

When I read that your Dad wanted to leave his hospital bed and go to the hospital your Mom was at, to be with her...and they wouldn't let him...my heart broke...they were suffering with illness but I think they both had the biggest broken heart any of us could have imagined.

I'm sure your Dad after slipping away, went to her and told her how much he loved her and wanted to be with her. I'm sure he whispered...let go dear...come with me...we have to be together one way or another...in my heart I wish to believe this, because that way neither had to grieve the loss of the other.

That day must have been so tramatizing for you all...finding out your Dad passed and than awhile later your Mom...too much for a family to comprend...but when you think upon it...I hope you see the same story I do...I call your parents passing My Sleeping Beauty Story...the Prince comes and saves his Princess.

How special it must have been for Katie to see her Grandparents both on the same day! Together they will be happy waiting until you and the rest of the family joins them...sending you hugs my dear because I'm sure you can use them. xo

~He Only Took Our Hands~

Last night while I was sleeping, my Mom & Dad's voice I did hear

I opened my eyes and looked around
 
But they didn't appear
They said;

"You've got to listen, you've got to understand
God didn't take us from you, he only took our hands"

When we called out in pain August 19th, he instantly reached down,
took our hands and pulled us gently to his side,
lifted both of us up and saved us from all the misery and pain inside.
Our bodies hurt so badly, we could never be the same

Our search is really over now
We've found happiness within, all the answers to our empty dreams
and all that might have been

We love all of you soooo very, very much & will always be near by
Our bodies are gone forever
But our spirit's will never die

So you must go on now and live one day at a time
Until we meet again

Just understand:

God didn't take us from any of you, he only took our hands!!
